Longterm Goals

1. Reduce anxiety caused by separation from the child.

2. Teach the child basic school-readiness skills.

3. Implement strategies that promote feelings of capability, adequacy, and academic confidence in the child.

4. Verbalize a sustained interest in the child's academic and social/ emotional adjustment in school.

5. Support the school and the child's teacher in their efforts to effectively educate the child.

6. Verbalize and model personal and family values that prioritize effort, academic achievement, and lifelong learning.
