Longterm Goals

1. Implement a firm, structured, consistent system of discipline for the oppositional/defiant child.

2. Relate to the child with love, support, and empathy even in the face of the oppositional/defiant behavior.

3. Maintain physical, mental, and emotional health and balance in order to cope with the daily challenges of parenting an oppositional/defiant child.

4. Enlist the assistance and understanding of friends and extended family members in offering respite and support for managing the oppositional/ defiant behavior of the child.

5. Offer support and guidance to the siblings for dealing appropriately with the child's oppositional/defiant behavior.

6. Seek medical, educational, behavioral, and psychological help for the child with oppositional/defiant behavior.
