1. Divorce and/or separation are anticipated, in progress, or completed.

2. Various family members experience stress, fatigue, depression, anxiety, and mood swings.

3. Increased workload in the household, disorganization, and feelings of being overwhelmed.

4. Self-absorption and preoccupation with personal problems and reduced focus on the children.

5. Lack of consistent, positive, and compassionate discipline.

6. Drastic drop in income and a change in lifestyle for the mother and the children.

7. Children experience a lack of involvement with, and financial and emotional support from the father.

8. Children are shocked, traumatized, and afraid for their own future.

9. Children express strong opposition to the decision to divorce.

10. Children experience increased anger, anxiety, guilt, depression, low self-esteem, low achievement, and/or negative behavior.
