When your child has an assignment to report on a current event, go online and find stories about current church/state issues or the Boy Scouts' exclusionary policies. For high school youth, investigate the Pennsylvania court case in which the Dover public schools were sued by a group of parents who were fighting to have intelligent design labeled a religious belief and thus taken out of the classroom. A wonderful documentary on Nova titled "Judgment Day: Intelli gent Design on Trial" offers a behind-the-scenes look at what may be the most important trial in the history of public school science education in the United States.
