Bad Attitude News Alert

A child today is ten times more likely to be seriously depressed compared to a child born in the first third of this century. Martin Seligman, author of The Optimistic Child, found that helping kids become more optimistic and less cynical not only helps protect them from depression but also to be less frequently depressed, more successful at school and on the job, better able to bounce back from adversity, and even physically healthier than cynical people. His work also found that optimism can be nurtured and pessimism can be reduced.
